Graduate

Mission

The Department of Political Science and International Relations offers a Master's and a Ph.D. program at the graduate level. The department is committed to diversity and does not uphold any particular approach to inquiry.

The aim of the MA program in Political Science and International Relations is to prepare students with specialized knowledge in their fields of interest. The subfields include International Relations, Comparative Politics, Turkish Politics, and Political Theory.

A major goal of the MA program is to encourage students to continue their studies towards a Ph.D. degree in prominent universities at home and abroad.

An MA degree in Political Science and International Relations prepares students for jobs in the increasingly integrated world of business, media, and politics.

The aim of the Ph.D. program in Political Science and International Relations is to prepare students for academic careers. The graduates of the program regularly staff the departments of Political Science or International Relations in various Turkish universities.

The Ph.D. program is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge in their subfields of interest, help them further develop their capacity for critical thinking, and prepare them to undertake intensive, independent research. Students receive close supervision from distinguished faculty members who have expertise in a wide range of research topics.
